A Working-Class Leader Who Has Served on the Front Lines

Hashan Chowdhury has spent over a decade in public safety—working with Parole and Probation and the Montgomery County Department of Correction and Rehabilitation (DOCR) since 2010. He has seen firsthand how accountability, fairness, and second chances can keep communities safe.

Beyond public safety, Hashan has led across education, labor, and civic engagement:

  • President, Parkland Middle School PTSA
  • Former Parent Representative, Montgomery County Commission on Child Care
  • President, Alliance of South Asian American Labor (Maryland Chapter)
  • President, Bangladeshi American Foundation

Now he’s running for the Democratic Central Committee to help Democrats win, engage underrepresented communities, and reflect the diversity of District 39.
