Election Day — Vote at Your Assigned Precinct

 

Unlike early voting, Election Day voting must be done at your specific assigned precinct.

If you vote at the wrong location on Election Day, you will be required to cast a provisional ballot, which takes more time to process.

Do not go to an early voting center on Election Day — they are only open during the early voting period (June 11–18).

Do You Need ID to Vote?

In most cases, Maryland does not require voters to present identification while voting.

However, ID may be required if:

• You registered to vote by mail and have never voted in a federal election in Maryland before
• Your identity is challenged at the polls
• You register to vote during early voting or change your address during early voting

Accepted forms of ID include:

• Maryland driver’s license or MVA-issued ID card
• Student or employee photo ID card
• Passport or other government-issued ID
